Kellermeister Winery in the Barossa Valley is simply the place for Winey Kids to go.
What struck us most when we arrived was the number of little people about the place! We don’t think there was a group there who didn’t have a Winey Kid with them.
This is an incredibly relaxed cellar door with an awesome family friendly vibe about it. All the Winey Kids were wandering about with their free kids packs, or items from the toy box. There is a change table in the ladies toilets. There was a lovely expanse of lawn with quoits and ball games which our little person enjoyed. Very very relaxing.
Food wise, you can opt for an amazing looking platter (we didn’t eat here, just admired others platters!) or buy your own bits and pieces from a well stocked fridge. Being late afternoon, we opted for a couple of blocks of rocky road! Yum!
Our 4 year old soon made friends, and it was great to see her run around in a safe environment. During vintage, the ability to view the Kellermeister winery from the grass area will be a fun experience for the little ones.
And as for the wine, don’t miss the single vineyard Mataro, or the Wild Witch Shiraz, given 97 points by James Halliday and in 2012 voted the worlds best Shiraz. Yum!
