Langhorne Creek is a boutique wine region, just 1 hour (ish) from Adelaide and worth the drive or bus down to this picturesque area.
The one thing that struck us, was that it really is an accessible family friendly wine region for a weekend away.
With 7 cellar doors, you can also take your time to explore the region really well. You can read our full experience in our Family Guide to Langhorne Creek blog post.
Being a small region means there’s just the one centre of the small township of Langhorne Creek (though the bigger town of Strathalbyn is under 15 minutes away). This is really handy for getting your bearings quickly, and from a parent perspective than means knowing where the playgrounds are, the general store, the pub and it’s meal times and so on!
Our personal advice to your family is to make a mini-break of a visit to the region.
Don’t just pass through!
Spend a few days living the life of great wine, great food and experience that great country vibe and hospitality! You can also visit the Langhorne Creek Wine Region Tourism website for further information about the area.
